Zimmermann F/W 2016 – Review

THE DOCKET: Sporty bombers, silk jumpsuits, harem pants, metallic lace dresses and floating silhouettes at times bordered on American Apparel territory, but detailing such as patterned tights and Eastern prints reined the collection back into the Australian label’s signature laidback aesthetic.
INSPIRED: By India’s architecture, Eastern influences and mirrors, or rather, the reflective nature of embellishments.
TOP INSTA LOOK: Weather-defying off-the-shoulder silk dresses, bohemian maxis and relaxed jumpsuits.
OFF PROBATION: A plunging black dress with cutouts and floor-grazing fringing, worn over a whimsical blush blouse with platform brogues and a rose gold chain link choker.
GOOD BEHAVIOUR BOND: A boyfriend-style salmon blazer jumpsuit worn under a khaki green open trench and oversized gun metal hoop earrings.
POP CULTURE-NOD: The sort of toned-down getup New Girl’s Schmidt might have declared as dress code for his rent-a-date to CeCe’s Indian wedding. Bondi hipsters in search of a winter wardrobe for Australia’s mostly non-existent cold season.
